Ghilam Lonar

Ghilam is a Prison guard within Kaskeya in Las Islos. He is an older man, breaking into his early eighties. Ghilam was a prisoner at Kaskeya for a large amount of his life. When he was young, he had traveled with a group of thieves that would frequently steal from merchants that traveled up and down the Tortuga river. On one specific instance Ghilam was captured, and deilvered to Kaskeya. Ghilam was a prisoner in the early days of the kingdom, and actually spent a large amount of time building the prison itself, with many of the early prisoners mining rock and building walls for what would become the Prison proper. Ghilam was sentenced to life in the prison, and in many of his early years he was spiteful and hateful towards the guards. He would often steal or get into fights with the guards, and would recieve more punishment for his actions. After a while, however, the man began to enjoy the company of the guards and his follow prisoners. Ghilam became somewhat of a popular figure, often trading services or food items to new prisoners in need. After his 30th birthday in Kaskeya, the warden as well as the guards who had become close to him decided that Ghilam was to be released from the prison on good behavior. Shocked, and not quite sure what do, Ghilam asked if they would give him a job as a prison guard. Initially the warden hesistated, as the prospect of giving a previous inmate access to keys to the prison could be incredibly problematic. The warden ultimately decided that Ghilam would be under a trial run, to see if he truly had what it took to be a guard within the prison. Ghilam could no longer simply be a friend to the prisoners, but he must also show discipline when needed.
