Ealain

Ealain is a member of the Adair commune that resides within the kingdom of Wakatakte. This commune is located on a small island that is within the lake Wichasani. During Ealain’s infancy ritual, even as a toddler, they were stubborn and refused to participate in it. Rather than choosing from the flint, quill, mortar and pestle, vial, mask, and war banner, they kept reaching toward the charcoal in the fire. When Ealain would get ahold of the charcoal they would rub it on the ground, making black streaks on the ground. The adults took this as a sign that Ghri had claimed them as their patron.   Growing up Ealain was often scolded many times for wasting resources, breaking things, or vandalizing commune property. Ealain was always viewed as a troublemaker and generally a difficult child. Many were surprised when the best blacksmith in the commune, Duinegli, chose them as their apprentice.   As a blacksmith apprentice Ealain continued to be stubborn and difficult, but Duinegli understood Ealain, after a few months of working, Ealain eventually came to an understanding with Duinegli and started to listen and look up to their mentor. Even though Ealain adjusted to being a blacksmith apprentice, they still got into trouble with wasting resources. Ealain had a deep passion for creation. They would often sneak into the workshop at night to create metal sculptures to represent stories, creatures, and generally just using metal as a way to be a creative outlet. In Adair culture, art and creativity is seen as a waste of time and resources, so Ealain often has to keep their artworks a secret.
