Blood Thief

Blood thieves can be groups or individuals and are typically assassins or those of the underworld who are already mixed up in bad business. There are a variety of reasons that one or more blood thieves may be hired. Some of the reasons those in power are interested in hiring blood thieves is so there is an accessible supply of fresh blood to use when performing their magic/spells and so they don’t have to use their own because why would they stoop to the level of those below them and “disfigure” themselves to perform some measly spells when they can use the blood of those below them. The powerful people will also occasionally enlist the blood thieves to kidnap people rather than just steal their blood, this way there can be a fresh supply of blood stored away. Other instances of stealing blood also occur during active battle. During battle many of the warriors will make use of their fallen foes blood before using their own. This is to preserve their own strength and body when using blood magic until it is necessary to use their own body therefore running the risk of weakening themselves.
