Imogen's father married her off to a real baron (the rumor has it that he was paid a lot of money for this arrangement so he could pay off his gambling debts…). Ranu’s thirst for alcohol rivaled his capacity for love and a long shadow was cast over her existence.
Imogen, with her poetic soul, had once aspired to a life filled with love and passion. She had hoped to find solace and companionship in Ranu's arms, but instead, she found herself trapped in a loveless union.
