Cavalcante

The Cavalcante are the leading family of the Nord Tuomi. They are one of the few remaining original families of the arriving fleet, and have always called Firenze their home.   The Cavalcante's established the Nord Tuomi to be an open meritocracy that values all of its members and shares its wealth while maintaining a vision of prosperity. Rumours abound amongst the isle that this open nature is a front for the most powerful and dangerous spy, thieving and smuggling organisation seen on Delrind. Rivals point to the fact that such a caring approach could not give the Cavalcante's such wealth and influence over so much of the islands. The pride of a Cavalcante in looking after the people keeps these rumours from having much weight.   The family welcomes Shets'Doma in its ranks and has even sheltered, sponsored and eventually recognised orphans of other races that have graced its doors. This has kept it in good standing with many of the racial groups across Alphatia although it has often drawn the ire of the other Tuomi's who are not so welcoming.

Foreign Relations

Baztek Dwarves: Strong trade relations that requires polite behaviour at all times. Little trust beyond or expectation of support. Other Dwarves: Treat them with respect as they are probably visiting the Baztek Kingdom.   Ornhini Shadow Resistance: Discovered during the last shadow war, and become strong allies after recognising the danger and force behind the Carnival. Heroes with allegiance to the Cavalcantes are being trained by the Ornhini and the massive network of informers and spies reporting on any events that might be linked to this presence   Elenhos: Although a powerful force on Nord the continued withdrawal of this race and its people has been of concern to the Cavalcante family. Not trusting their links to the shadow and other dangerous magics.   Trade Union: The Cavalcante family helped to establish this organisation to help workers in other families to achieve some semblance of fairness. They have funded the group but have distanced themselves politically. High ranking members of the family are disgusted by some of the violent behaviour of the Union and the recent state of murders that have been linked to the Union.   Hobgoblin Empire: Nothing better than pirates, these tribes have hampered trade around Arran and Nord. The military arm of the Nord Tuomi has become concerned about the rising mystic and arcane power of the Hobgoblins and have been sending exploration and scouting vessels to keep an eye on the flotilla.   Garundi of Guney: Very little trading contact due to trading in different seas. The Cavalcante are becoming concerned with the increasing power this group represents within trading circles and Senate of Alphatia.   Druids of Giardino: Have been in political conflict with the druids for many years as the Cavalcante continue to develop the land for production and make use of steam technology. Projects have been sabotaged by the druids or their allies on occasions.   Ovest Tuomi: Merhcants playing at nobility. The titles they give themselves and their expressions of wealth show them to be fools. Never trust an Ovestian or take money from them.   Eurus Tuomi: Priests playing at being merchants. While their respect for Denev and her family is admirable it often gets in the way of good business success. Be watchful of the zealot.   Alphatian Senate: An important political group that help keep the nation progressing. Can be used to get what is required, just ask an elder of the family for details on any of its members.   Shets'Doma: Brothers of the Varisian, treat them with the same respect you would any Varisian for they make what we sell. Aventurer's Guild: Many of the family have found a home within the guild. While we respect the opportunity for adventure this group, its growing power within the Isle needs to be checked.   Elwin Community: The little-folk are as welcome as any other peace-loving group within our cities. While they gather this group seems to have no political or aggressive agenda.
