Sandra Huynh (Sandra Hyune)
Sandra Huynh is the third princess of the Huynh Dynasty, the ruling family of the constitutional socialist monarchy of the planet Artemis. As the third in line, she is neither the heir nor the spare in the family. If her family were English, and this were the 19th Century, this would condemn her to be married off sight-unseen to an unknown ally of her parents' in exchange for a toehold in lands elsewhere in the kingdom whilst sighing dramatically, staring out into the distance over the lost love of her life, hair fluttering equally dramatically in a breeze (even indoors).
Fortunately, neither is the case. Lieutenant Commander Sandra Huynh is a member of the Royal Artemisian Star Navy. Commanding officer of the Thuan Tien-class destroyer Judith, she is nevertheless more bored with her life than the lofty position of captain of a stargoing destroyer would indicate, as her royal lineage and closeness to the throne has, she believes, condemned her and her ship to a boring life of low-risk cargo escort missions, leavened by the occasional wargame where she amuses herself by crafting complex strategies that embarrass captains years her senior.
Until she meets the beautiful, exotic Interstellar Navy commander Veronica Grey. Haughty, beautiful, brilliant with a piercing stare and golden-blonde locks, the striking officer was a bolt of excitement in Sandra's life. And so our story begins.
