Mirabeck Orbital Complex Station, Annex A

An odd little misshapen blob on a large, sprawling space station, Annex A is the most secretive part of the Mirabeck Orbital Complex and at the same time, the most important. This annex is where Mirabeck's classified technology is developed, especially its Societal Perfection Project. The thought-alteration technology that is at the core of Mirabeck's vaunted military discipline and its sector-highest quality of life and social happiness standards.
Annex A, if its true function were known, would be among the most hated places in the known universe. On most worlds, any technology like the thought alteration at the core of Mirabeck military and social hierarchies would be considered not only dangerous, but probably would get people thrown in prison or executed.
Mirabeck social strategists would quietly argue that this just shows lack of creativity on the part of other governing bodies. The Mirabeck Planetary Consortium seeks to offer the highest quality of life in the galaxy, and in some places where people don't fit into the society, they might need a little nudge here and there.
This, they argue, happens everywhere in the galaxy by different names - peer pressure, social harmony, call it what you will. Here, it's a simple bioelectric alteration and it avoids painful lessons, people's grievances are simply melted away. It barely takes any energy at all.
