Mirabeck

Mirabeck orbits a class G3 star at a distance of approximately 1 AU, the fourth planet of its system, which has one asteroid belt between the primary and its large gas giant. Its pleasant climate makes it an ideal world for the sector’s capital. Its ruling family are the prideful Mirabecks. The Planetary Director, Ols Rene Mirabeck VIII, is officially democratically elected but in practice has not run opposed in nearly six decades. His eldest son, Ols IX, is expected to succeed him. In practice, Ols IX's daughter, Callisto Mirabeck, the Chief Directive Officer of the Mirabeck Corporation and son, Dane Mirabeck, the Managing Admiral of the Mirabeck Defense Force, run the civilian and military side, respectively, of the Mirabeck Directorate.
One of the ongoing issues of Mirabeck is the conflict between the human settlers and the semi-hemophagic, possibly sentient native creatures named the Chupacabra by planetary settlers. The Chupacabra (Mirabeck - Hemophagius intransigus) were imported to the northern continent of Mirabeck a century ago (before their potential sapience was discovered) and have been present ever since, acting as a disruptive force against human encroachment.
The planet Heartbreak, third planet in the Mirabeck system, has a poisonous atmosphere but is otherwise suitable for life. The Mirabeck Sector Maximum Security Prison is located here; the prisoners are put to labor building atmosphere processors that will be used to terraform the atmosphere once completed.
