The Battle of Nosgorn

Over the horizon, fifteen figures emerge from the sky. Fire, ice, shadow, water, and death. Children screaming to your left, your wife looking to you in her last moments as her body is vaporized.
Another child sees her parents die in front of her. The lone figure holding her doll.
The dragons came and conquered. There was little left after the destruction. A nobleman allowed civilians to enter his keep. Other nobles laughed at the death of peasants. Some say it was an inside job.
The day after the attack, the King was found dead with his head chopped off. The court necromancer, sword in hand, dead next to him with markings of a dragon attack. No other survivors were found in the rubble of the castle.
A dragonborn female's head on a spear in front of her shop. Innocents slain and guilty let free. What was the point in this fight when all are maimed and few survive?
Four people were witnessed attempting to help the guards defend the City State of Nosgorn. Unfortunately the numbers were too great and they fell to the ground in pain. These are the horrors of death and destruction.
A monk was seen running up buildings. A wizard seen throwing spells. A flying barbarian throwing punch after punch. A young Halfling doing his best to help. The names lost to time but heroes all the same.
