Session 1: "The Beholder and The Dragon" or "Waking up in a Library" Report
General Summary
The party woke in a strange room and found themselves in front of a tiny little pocket Beholder, Sam, who told them he was glad they were awake. Sam then led them through a serious of rooms in the The Library of Misinthianioal.
Sam then led them to a room with a very huge Beholder, Kairon, and an unnamed Ancient White Dragon. The Beholder, Kairon, told the group of some meteor rocks that fell from space to the ground in several areas and allowed the group to pick where they would like to go.
From there, Sam led them past and several various rooms with various races, such as Livingsteel, and into a training room where the party faced two statues. After two members of the party nearly dying, but being saved at one hit point each because it was a training session, the party finally finished off the statues and won.
Sam then offered to have them face the statues on level two, even after the party completely destroyed his precious 'children'. The party refused and were then healed by a Tortle. Sam then led them back to the room but through a different way. Sam led the party through a kitchen, with huge giants, and then to a chasm and went back the other way but then came back and said, "Oh! Why am I going back? We can go this way!" and left across the chasm.
Varghest then walked toward the chasm and tested it to see if it was an invisible walkway but a floating bookcase came by and he got on it with the rest of the party following. The party was then brought up on the bookcase like an elevator and came across a gnome reading a book with jeweler's glasses on.
The party was originally going to go to Bal Tadore, but after finding out that The Bastion of The Gargoyle Empress had the most meteors and the group decided to go there. They told Kairon and decided to go to The Bastion of The Gargoyle Empress.
They were then transported to The Bastion of The Gargoyle Empress. Upon getting to the large door (around 250-300ft high up with large stone walls), they were greeted by the Cloud Giant guard and eventually allowed access.
The party then stayed there overnight with various party members speaking and interacting with NPCs and each other. Varghest played a Dragonchess game with a Tortle master of the game. Varghest lost but had fun. Kite on The Wind stole from the noble that just played Dragonchess with the Tortle previously. Nyvari and Scrapper made gold selling their alcohol. Koz was given a Sylvan to Common dictionary by a group of twelve Tieflings.
After spending the night, the characters enjoyed a buffet style breakfast with everyone. They then began a half a day travel in a carriage to Gargola, the Capital of The Bastion of The Gargoyle Empress. During the travel, the party spoke with Kite on The Wind about sharing information and not hiding about where they steal stuff. Kite mentioned that she doesn't have many rules but she does have two rules: 1) Finish any job assigned to her. 2) Do not steal from assigned allies.
The party agreed and Varghest agreed to identify what she stole: The bag of holding and a silver dagger. Once arriving at Gargola, the party wasn't sure where to go and started discussing contacts: Kite stated she had contacts and Myev said she didn't want to know about illegal contacts -- in earshot of a guard.
The session ended with the party, minus Kite, going to a Merchant's Guild to meet one of Myev's relatives. The session ended with Kite seeking out contacts and the party seeing a Half-Orc with three kids running around her outside the guild.
