Dragon's Vale

When Dragon's Vale was originally created, it was because the great dragon Borunda landing there and setup camp for her brood to hatch. The peasants that saw her began to worship her. Unknown to them, this was the Goddess Borunda in draconic form.
Eventually Borunda would move on but some of her brood would remain behind and would be worshiped by followers that would eventually take the name Dragon Priests. Dragon priests worship dragons.
They care only for protecting the dragons that they worship. All that matters to them is protecting the dragon(s) and destroying those that would harm the one(s) that they worship. They tend to know spells and are quite powerful. Only those that are foolish would dare cross paths with more then one dragon priest.
Dragon Priests would eventually make masks and staves crafted from the freely given hide from dying dragons. Those dragons placed their very spirits into these masks and staves causing anyone who wields either to be cursed into being a dragon priest.
As time would pass, those that remained to worship the dragons were also gifted other boons such as longer lifespans and easier to farm lands. These people were also gifted with the ability to speak and under draconic, even if they themselves did not become dragon priests.
While many have sought out the power of these masks and staves, those who have tried to use them have found themselves cursed and unable to resist becoming Dragon Priests themselves.
