The Gray Wolf of Blackwall, Fenrir (a.k.a. The Bound Wolf)

The Bound Wolf is one of the Kaiju beasts of Moromel, enslaved by the people of New Cheliax and it is forced to fight for them in their bloody war with the Blackwall Loyalists.

Physical Description

Special abilities

Fenrir was possessed of an extreme intellect following his consuming of Great Wyrm Blood. While not capable of speech, he was able to understand words spoken to him and able to communicate via barks and motions. It is unknown if his mind surviving the Binding Process. The Kaiju, Grandmother Weaver, has suggested there may be ways to free him but as to why she has not done so remains to be seen.

Personal history

The Bound Wolf is one of the Kaiju of Moromel, though it originally was a mundane wolf raised by the Now Goddess Ziel Viendal when she was still a simple adventurer. His name was Fenrir but the Hellbinders of New Cheliax have stripped even his name from memory and it is only able to be recalled in the City of Axis where Ziel's Word is Law.
Fenrir was a beloved companion of Ziel and her greatest friend before she joined the rest of her party in the Dark Pillars. Following her decision to become an Adventurer he remained at Castle Blackwall and patiently awaited her return. When she did and fought the Great Wyrm Malsivir Fenrir was fatally injured and she bid the Wolf to drink of the Great Wyrm's Blood, hoping it would save him. When it seemed Fenrir had passed, Ziel marched into the City of Dis to take her new home.
But Fenrir did indeed survive. With Devils now ruling Castle Blackwall he fled into the forests and vanished from record. Over the Course of the Purge War he was sighted several times by the people of Blackwall Province, larger and more cunning with each sighting. By the time of the Merging of Worlds, Fenrir had ceased Growing. He now stood at a terrifying Two Hundred and Fifty Feet in height and when the Forests of Moromel overgrew during the merging he let out one long mournful howl that was heard by his former Master and Friend.
Ziel found her old friend in the forests and while it took some convincing she was able to show him it was indeed her once more. The two rejoiced but when she offered the wolf the chance to join her in her new realm he refused, wishing to stay in the Forests and Guard the land and its people.
In the centuries since he did just that but all things change and eventually the invaders of New Cheliax took notice of the Great Beast and set to devising a trap for it. It took nearly a century of trial and error but they did succeed in trapping the Great Wolf and they inscribed Infernal Rune after Infernal Rune upon it, stripping it of its name and identity. What is left is a beast of war and destruction, obeying the commands of the Ruler of New Cheliax. Ziel attempted to save her old friend but was barred by Casmodus himself.
