Seat of the Gods

In the Divine Era, when the Gods walked among the mortals, it was believed that a giant temple complex now buried beneath the sands near Lohar Crater was the place where the Gods would find leisure in.
Many expeditions had been sent on behalf of Qirez and Belgax to try and uncover more, many relics of old had been pulled from the sunken Holy Ground.
Many mysteries lie buried within the Seat of the Gods' ancient halls, some say old divine magic still protects the place.
Others say that uncovering the inner most room would reveal the true Gods, a great controversy many scholars and clerics have debated over the millennia.

Purpose / Function

An ancient worship place, the gargantuan complex was built to accommodate all religions and believes.
Throughout its operational years many Pantheons have been marked and worshiped within the halls of the temple.
One can only guess who had originally built it and what Gods they worshiped.

Architecture

The few structures that were excavated were of simple design, the complex was mostly open, the pillars and walls made of hardened sandstone and brass or bronze.
The rooms were decorated with statues and pottery, most were already taken for museums or to research by archeologists and scholars of the Divine.
The inner rooms of worship have murals that are now faded and cracked by the time and natural phenomena that had passed over the world over the millennia.

History

Originally built by the natives of the Atef Desert, the Seat of the Gods was a place of worship to all who were devoted to a God.
It is speculated that no specific God held domain over these grounds and that it was considered sacred to all. Some superficial excavations revealed many types of worship and religious texts of varying movements and pantheons.   Over the years more rooms and halls were added to accommodate new religions and Gods, the temple evolved with the mortals that worshiped between its walls.
The temple was considered a separate autonomous region that was not a part of one nation or another, since the grounds were sacred for many religions not one nation could take claim of it.   The temple was destroyed by the meteor that had struck Kolmor on 1568, the building was partially hit by the flaming rock. The rest collapse from the shock waves and earthquakes that followed.

Tourism

The outer ruins are a popular target for curious researchers and scholars, the inner rooms and excavations are dangerous for anyone inexperienced with dungeon delving.
Some excavation companies offer delves into the ruin for the right price, but their trips never go far beneath the surface since expeditions are still being made to explore and recover artifacts from below.
