After the great sundering, Almia rested in silence. Its people found themselves and society began again in small pockets

    The Sundering Light

    Over 2000 years ago, the heavens shook, the multiverse crumbled, as realms across the multiverse were consumed in blinding light, life as everyone knew it almost came to an end.   But from that destruction came new life. Eventually the lands calmed, and oceans receded. The skies cleared and the moon once again moved across the sky. Within time the blinding light settled, the sun and stars visited the skies and the heavens settled. Time began again as the passage between night and day resumed. Life was born anew in Almia.

    The settling
    Geological / environmental event

    For around 500 years after the sundering, the remnants of the multiverse settled. The remains of the dead husk of the old worlds became the body of the new worlds, and Almia was the first to be born.

The Founding Era

The founding era saw the rise and fall of many nations, most notably the Realm of Aretis went from strength to strength securing their domination of Austeria

    The settling
    Geological / environmental event

    For around 500 years after the sundering, the remnants of the multiverse settled. The remains of the dead husk of the old worlds became the body of the new worlds, and Almia was the first to be born.

    The Lost Years

    After Almia was formed chaos still reigned across the land. Demons and devils roamed, cosmic horrors and creatures of nightmares hunted whilst the remaining gods and celestials worked to protect mortals and create a stable bastion for life to begin once more.

    The Arrival

    Beings from another realm arrive in south western Vanarri, they bring with them strange fusions of magic and technology.

    The Disappearance

    As quickly as they arrived, the strange outsiders vanished. What they left behind would be covered up by years of dirt before finally being discovered byt the Commonwealth

    Aretis-Viorlain War start
    Military action

    Explorers of the realm stumble upon dragons within the northern mountains. Their patriarch and namesake Viorlain seeks peace, but The Realm views them as monsters, a bloody war begins.   The war against Viorlain does not go well for the realm. Within 20 years of its start dragons are seen in the skies all across The Realm. They systematically destroy any military assets they identify. The Realm eventually negotiates a white peace, ackowleding the dragons of Viorlain as its own nation.

    The Ancient awakens
    Celestial / Cosmic

    After sheltering in the husk of her old world, the ancient one begins to awaken in the heart of Almia. Her ethereal roots spread deep under ground, and her branches begin to spread. Each branch holds the seed of the old worlds it used to touch.

    One day she would see the multiverse restored.

Age of Disasters

The age of disasters saw many disasters roll across Almia. From the long winters, Tarrasque awakening, and the falling stars, no nation was free from disaster.

    The Ancient awakens

    The elder dragon, and patriarch Viorlain dies, He is succeeded by Frervain

    The Frervain Crusade
    Disaster / Destruction

    The chromatic dragons of Vanarri awaken. Frervain immediately takes his people to war against the Chromatic brood. The people of Almia look to the skies as the Dragon wars reach their height.   The war reached its most brutal at -700 when the two dragon broods clashed over the sea. Their conflict tore upon a trench beneath the ocean revealing a network of flooded tunnels and chambers that was home to strange aquatic life.   The war came to a close when Frervain challenged the Chromatic matriarch Anshar to combat. Frervain was victorious, but the battle left him greatly wounded. He has not been seen outside of their mountain home since.

    The Tarrasque awakens
    Disaster / Destruction

    The great Tarrasque Balok awakens and begins a hundreds years of distruction across the Middle Isles.

    Pacification of The Tarrasque
    Cultural event

    The greatest elven mages of the Middle isles weave their magics together to form the rune of greater sustenance. After restraining and applying the rune to the Great Tarrasque, its hunger was alleviated and the creatures rampage came to an end.

    The Schism of Aretis
    Cultural event

    The unified face of The Realm breaks as the Peierken rebellion begins. After four years of war against the rebellion the Hingenian movement begins. The Realm faces war on two fronts against factions seeking independence. A series of disasters from extended winters, flooding and heigtened seismic activity weaken the Realm forcing them to acknowledge the Hingenian and Peierken independence.

The Age of Exploration

During the age of exploration, new nations rose to power and the desire to explore and understand rose again

    The Rise of Xaravelan
    Political event

    The Lich Xaravelan bought the people of south-eastern Vanarri together to form his new empire

    The Great Discovery
    Discovery, Scientific

    The first piece of ancient magitech was discovered. The site would later become the town of Oldwalder.

    Commonwealth- Xaravelian Conflict
    Military action

    The Commonwealth, and Xaravelian Empire come to blows. The conflict is brief with only a handful of direct military clashes, but a ceasefire is formed. Relationship between the two nations grows stronger after.

    The Fleet Rises
    Technological achievement

    Perhaps inspired by the commonwealths growing variety of transports, the Xaravelian empire reveals its newly raised fleet of Whalebone ships.   These ships are built into the raised remains of dead whales and other large marine life. These ships prove able to maneuver on the sea surface and deep beneath the waves without issues.   By -50 the empire would clash with a roaming kraken, its corpse would come to be the flagship of the Xaravelian Navy.

    The Khanate Rises
    Military action

    The Cazudesia Khanate emerges in the north eastern reaches of Vanarri. Formed as several minor clans merged into the Khanate ruled by their mysterious Khan.   The Khanate then proceeded to march west conquering all it came across.   Their march of destruction was ultimately stopped by the magically infused forces of the Cinia and the various tribes of the Nara desert.

    Feron Aretis dies
    Life, Death

    After contracting a strange disease, Feron Aretis, Prince of the Realm and first in line for the crown, dies. The Realm experiences a year of mourning.

    King Aretis XI is crowned.

    At the age of 497, Lothain Aretis, Tenth King of the realm abdicates the throne. His second born, and eldest son Kalen Aretis takes the crown as King Aretis XI
