Session 20 Recap
General Summary
After facing down the rogue necromancer Lydia, the party rested at the mouth of the abandoned mine.
Come morning they decided to check out said mine, exploring its depths.
It became obvious quick that the mine was dangerously unstable, so much so that any large impacts or explosions could cause a cave in.
Within they found a number of collapsed pathways, likely once leading to rich deposits of ore.
At the end of the mine they found a tear in the rock, seemingly formed by natural stress, and wide enough to move through
On the other side rested an underground spring, above which sat a large gleaming deposit the party determined was likely adamantine.
Cautiously they smashed off a sample to check and validate their beliefs.
Following the only remaining path they found a dead end, and a strange creature had made a nest here. At first it seemed like a perfectly intact brain, but as legs sprouted from it, battle ensued.
The creature sluggishly moved, its attacks predictable and falling short, but too the surprise of others it began casting spells.
A brief stint of confusion projected a worrying situation, but the creature itself was battered, and showing an unexpected level of intellect it decided to flee. Casting invisibility, healing its wounds, and attempting to sneak.
But the party was like a hunter that had its prey, the scent of blood was driving them... Until they thought fuck it, lets go home.
Upon returning home it was time to engage in the trial round of the tournament.
The party found themselves facing a team of 5 comprised of a decent mix of warriors, mages and support.
The opposition landed a few nice hits, but the parties unrelenting assault proved too much.
