Avis

Avis are Noch's race of bird people! They are bipedal and humanoid, and come in a wider range of height averages than most races, standing anywhere from 4 to 6 feet tall. Some varieties have been known to be shorter still. Avis come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and can resenble in face-shape and color any type of bird. Avis have talons on their hands and feet, with wingng-like arms. Avis rarely live in large groups, preferring, for the most part, a more solitary lifestyle or more close-knit communities. Avis towns are few and far between, dotted across the land. Much like their Deity, the Avis find it in their nature to pursue knowledge. Many Avis attend universities, and Avis teachers and professors are common in schools all across Almalath. It is not uncommon to see an Avis as the owner of a prolific trading company or lucrative business. Avis mages are not a rare sight, either. Though less common, Avis can become talented combatants with physical weapons, their keen eyesight giving them a natural propensity for ranged weapons.
