General Groupings

Guilds, Factions, and Classes

Guilds, factions, classes, or other interest groups are generally divided into broad categories for the purposes of expressing concerns or approval for policies and drafting larger far reaching regulations or laws. Each category lists prime examples of roles that might be included within that category. Guilds or trade groups can be further divided by more specific jobs or societal roles, however, their collective interests may still be represented by their broader category. As in example: “The Academics and Judiciary are in favor of the new toll rates, however the Merchants are opposed due to the direct increase in cost and the Military are opposed due to difficulty with enforcement and a predicted decline in public support for doing so.”

Judiciary

This grouping represents the creators and judges of law. A member of this guild is also barred form membership of another guild or trade group and is highly discouraged from engaging in training or taking up the skills of another guild, for fear of favoritism. Nobility may not, under any circumstance become members of a judiciary guild.

Academics

Academics dedicate their life to the study of a subject or skill. Many academics are also members of another guild or highly value their skills in a certain trade. However, unlike a craftsman, the academics focus on knowledge building, not skill attainment. Therefore, many academic guilds have a merchant counterpart, but are distinctly different in purpose. All guild masters are also considered academics.

While their guilds do not bar membership in any other guild, it is rare to see an entertainer take up another interest.
