Slate Tree
A type of tree only native to the continent of Felland. It thrives in dry climates, capable of holding water for months at a time. It is named for its signature gray bark, which is more similar to stone than it is wood.

Anatomy
Slate Trees have thick branches which sport wide, rigid leaves that are relatively stiff. Slate Trees have stone bark, and are therefore fire resistant.
Counter to their appearance, Slate Trees have very small seeds which are carried by the wind.

Slate Trees are mostly coveted for their stone bark, which is used as a source of stone, often used as tiling and tools.
In eras past, Slate Bark was used as material for weaponry, but as metallurgy improved, its place in this regard has become rare.
Slate Bark is sometimes used as reinforcement in building materials and defenses, including use as a cheap type of armor.
