History
The founding of Leol is steeped in mythology and legend, passed down through generations of Leolian storytellers. According to the ancient tales, the creation of Leol is attributed to a lion deity or a revered hero who played a pivotal role in its establishment.
Centuries ago, the land that would become Leol was a vast and untamed wilderness, inhabited by various tribes of beastfolk and mythical creatures. Among these tribes were those who revered lions as symbols of strength, nobility, and leadership.
During the Runic Age a great and wise lion, known as Roarheart, said to have descended from the heavens to guide the scattered tribes towards unity and prosperity.
Roarheart was said to possess a majestic mane that glowed like a radiant sun and a voice that echoed like thunder, inspiring awe and reverence among all who heard it.
Roarheart chose a visionary leader from each of the lion-tribes, selecting those who possessed exceptional courage, wisdom, and loyalty. These chosen leaders, known as the first Sovereigns, were tasked with bringing their tribes together and forging a new nation.
Under Roarheart's guidance, the Sovereigns embarked on a perilous journey, overcoming treacherous landscapes, fierce creatures, and internal conflicts. Their unwavering determination and the blessings bestowed upon them by Roarheart enabled them to surmount these challenges.
Finally, after years of trials and tribulations, the Sovereigns arrived at a sacred place known as the Lion's Gate. It was a breathtaking valley nestled between towering mountains and fertile grasslands—a land rich in resources and potential.
In a profound ceremony witnessed by all, Roarheart blessed the land and the assembled tribes, bestowing upon them the name Leol, which means "Land of the Lions" in an ancient tongue. With this act, Leol was officially founded, and the Sovereigns became the first rulers of this new nation.
To this day, the founding of Leol is celebrated with great reverence and gratitude. The legacy of Roarheart and the Sovereigns continues to inspire the Leolians, reminding them of their sacred duty to honor their land, embrace their regal heritage, and protect their nation's legacy of strength and unity.
