Elhani

Elhani evolved into a unique hybrid between animal and human. They are even called were-creatures by some, although they cannot change between their animal and humanoid form. They are humanoids with some animal aspects that make them easily recognizable. They are ralatively often seen on Alkumeri although they are more at home in nature. The reason for this is that there is less and less natural area available and the Elhani are more concerned with the well-being of wildlife than claiming their natural homes for themselves. Once there were many different animals traits that represented the Elhani, but as the rot forests grew, their numbers and diversity dwindled and soon there were only five of their once great variety left.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Elhani are quite similar to humans although, depending on their animalistic trait, the weight distribution differs to some extent. They also have fur in some places that corresponds to those of the actual animal, and depending on that they also have claws, pointed teeth or antlers. Although they have animal features, this does not limit them either physically or intellectually. On the contrary, many Elhani are stronger or more agile than some other humanoids.

Biological Traits

Elhani age as fast as humans, but their life expectancy is only half as long. Although their strength and dexterity decreases a little over time, only a few of them live beyond 50 years. They can, thanks to their animalistic eyes also see very well at night and some also generally hear or smell better.

Animalistic feature

You can recognize the Elhani sometimes more and sometimes less easily by their animal characteristics but you can divide them into one of the five animal categories.
  Deer
These Elhani are the most agile of their kind and with their light-footedness they can overcome even the most difficult obstacles. They are extremely fast, leaving many others incapable of keeping up with them. Deer Elhani can have a little fur which usually grows on their arms, chest and/or legs. They have the eyes of a deer, so they have a horizontal slit as a pupil. Also, both female and male Deer Elhani have antlers that can grow up to 40 cm long.

Snake
These Elhani are both strong and dexterous, and if you don't get on their good side you will quickly find yourself in a stranglehold of a snake. Snake Elhani do not have fur like the others but can have slightly larger scales in some places as well as neck, arms, stomach and/or legs. They have the sensitive eyes of a snake with a vertical slit for a pupil. In addition to their extendable, pointed fangs that can sink deep into their victim, they are also very impervious to poisons.

Wolf
These Elhani, like their animal counterparts, enjoy being around others and can easily blend into a group. They may also have some fur which usually grows on their arms, chest and/or legs. They have the watchful eyes of a wolf with which they observe everything and everyone closely. Wolf Elhani have an excellent sense of smell and would recognize any person by their scent alone. They also have pointed teeth with which they can bite in case of an emergency.

Bear
These Elhani are the strongest but also the heaviest of their kind. With their strength, it is easy for them to carry or move heavy objects. They can have a little fur which usually grows on their arms, chest and/or legs and have sharp claws on their hands. They have the small button eyes of a bear, but you should not underestimate them by the way they look. Bear Elhani also have a strong and robust jaws with which it is easy for them to crush even the toughest food in the shortest time.

Bird
These Elhani are the rarest of all Elhani and are considered nearly extinct. They often have colorful feathers and have a friendly temper which makes them especially popular with many other inhabitants on Alkumeri. The only bird-like feature they possess are the feathers that grow on their arms, which can reach from their hands to their shoulders. With these simple wings, they are able to rise into the air and fly away from their enemies, even if only for a short time.
