Aeryn

One of the most enigmatic races in all of Alkumeri are the Aeryn, also known as Nebel Figures or Novakind. Unlike others, their bodies are in a semi-solid state and are made out of an unknown gas that vanishes if it gets seperated from them. Some of them wear clothes but mostly prefer to not carry normal items like weapons, tools or jewelry, as they easily slip away due to the small area of contact. Instead, they can copy such items and recreate them with their mist, which they can make appear and disappear at will. If Aeryn take too much damage, they don't die immediately, instead they turn into a fist-sized orb of glass with a bit of their mist inside. The easiest way to distinguish Aeryn among each other is by their color and symbol which they have on their face, but whether any of this is indicative of their origin is unknown. Aeryn are generally very carefree and temperamental creatures who often just want to enjoy the moment and tend not to dwell in the past too much. It is unknown where they actually come from or if they were created, because they themselves seem to have forgotten, either because of foreign influence or because of their already unimaginably long existence. Aeryn are very rare and even though they enjoy the pleasures of life, which they often share with others, they are mostly lone wolves.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Aeryn have neither skin nor bones, nor do they need food or sleep. They seem to consist solely of a semi-gaseous substance, which is of unknown composition. It is unclear if the sphere they turn into to regenerate is already inside them or if they rapidly collapse into it.

Biological Traits

It is uncertain how and if Aeryn age or if they can reproduce and so far none of them have died due to old age.
They are about the size of humans but weigh less than half as much as they do on average.
Even though they have no visible sensory organs they seem to do well in the light as well as the dark.
