White Sands Festival

The White Sands Festival is a dwarf only festival that takes place in late spring in the White Wasteland. The festival has an exploratory feel, it is a time the dwarves take to re-connect with their heritage and the metals/ minerals that have shaped their society. Part history festival part showcase, dwarf students and crafters look forward to this festival all year.   The festival lasts for a full week, it is common for participants to only attend 2 or 3 days.

History

When the dwarves opened their city to the gnomes they felt that they needed an event to keep them grounded in their culture. This festival has become even more important to the dwarves as the gnome population in the mountain has exploded.

Execution

Dwarf city planners and engineers spend a good chunk of the year planning out a desert city for the festival. About a week before the festival a team of dwarves go into the desert and start setting up the temporary town.
