Session 2: Rescuing Charlee part 1
General Summary
Our heroes made their way back to the Dancing Pirate . After dinner and some nightly activities, our heroes retired to their rooms for the night. In the morning, during a delicious breakfast, Daeran approached a fierce looking wizard and struck up a conversation. Rorick is looking for his half brother, his searching led him to The Dancing Pirate. Daeran and Solto put in word to their contacts to see if anyone matching the half brother has been seen in the area. The rest of our heroes did some light shopping and prepared for the day.
It was soon decided that our heroes would travel to Izenborg to help someone named Charlee. She had gone missing a few days ago and her village was starting to worry. Our heroes first traveled to Maski, had an uneventful night at The Loud Tree Tavern, bought some horses, and headed out with the first light.
Our heroes arrived in Izenborg around 9am. They asked a few questions around town and learned that Charlee works for the White Earth Cafe with her mother, Lavender. She was supposed to be gone for one day and was about two days overdue and was collecting Psathyrella Aquatica. The village people put out some search parties but they didn't really know where to look. Solto used his forest nature knowledge to tell our heroes that Psathyrella Aquatica like slow moving rivers and calm lakes. The village people knew of a lake a few hours away.
Our heroes carelessly walked into the forest and were soon ambushed by a bear and a few wolves. They were concerned that the time spent fighting them would be disastrous for Charlee. Thank goodness Kaylin is a ranger, there was no chance these heroes would get lost in the forest.
Our heroes broke out of the forest into a large clearing dotted in violet mushrooms (Magilicus Tempesti) with a shimmering lake at the center. In the middle of the lake was a large ornately carved skeleton. In the rib cage there was a small figure, Charlee maybe? Kaylin threw a stone at one of the mushrooms. A fairly large lightening storm erupted, causing a chain reaction with all the mushrooms in the clearing. Our heroes waited for the storm to calm down before approaching the skeleton. Rorick threw a small stone at the skeleton, missed and hit the lake. Ripples from the stone disturbed the lake and a horde of zombies emerged. Our heroes dashed to the edge of the clearing and activated the mushroom lightening storm. Our heroes fought the zombies, between their attacks and the lightning, the zombies were soon all dead, again.
