Session 21: Underdark: An Aboleth's Lair

General Summary

Our heroes were pulled into a cavern, they all heard a booming voice that said " You have entered my lair"
Daeran pushed the ice boat to a small section of land. He held his crossbow ready to shoot any threat. Rorick swam to a small piece of land in the north of the cavern. Lucas stepped onto the land, he held his longbow ready to attack any threat. Zanril and and Kaylin swim closer to the rest of the party. Solto moved onto the small patch of land, like his team members, he also decided to ready his crossbow. Silence. Then suddenly something large rippled just beneath the surface. Solto took the first shot and missed, Lucas hit it, Daeran also hit it.
Daeran tries speaking to the being, he asks for a way out and tells it that they are seeking a great treasure. The being says that it does not appreciate the intrusion into its lair.
Zanril casts Twilight Sanctuary and Spirit Shroud in preparation for this battle. The aboleth surfaced and hit Zanril, Daeran, and Kaylin with tentacles but missed all three times. A stroke of luck? Kaylin swam to the small island to join the cluster of her friends. she casts bestial spirit in the form of a shark. Shark attacked and missed.
Solto hits the aboleth with his crossbow and managed to poison it. Daeran dove into the water to hit the aboleth from below. Rorick swam closer to the action, he hit the aboleth with an acid splash. Zanril attacked the aboleth at close range and was caught by its mucus cloud, becoming diseased for 2 hours. Zanril can now only breath underwater. Kaylin shot a moss arrow, a thick layer of moss grows on the surface of the water. It is difficult to walk on but seems to hold our heroe's weight. 
Solto hit the aboleth with an arrow and moved onto the moss patch. In a lucky strike with its tenticle, the aboleth hit Lucas and knocked him out. Zanril decided to hold his breath out of water to continue attacking, unfortunately he swung too wildly and missed with his long sword. The aboleth managed to put a charm on Zanril, suddenly Zanril starts to attack the rest of his friends. The aboleth disappeared under water, there is silence again just for a moment. The water ripples near Daeran. Solto summoned a small octopus and commanded it to wait for Kaylin's touch and then to follow the aboleth. Kaylin casts Beast Sense on the small octopus, immediately the octopus dove down to the aboleth, through it Kaylin saw the aboleth sink deep into the lake. An ancient booming voice filled our heroes heads "You may have bested me this time, but I will be back"
