Kaylin
She served as a soldier for the Kingdom of Evrand for 30 years but was becoming bored of patrolling agriculture fields and chasing off bandits. Many members of her battalion have just retired at 50, old for a human but not for a half-elf, and she too decided to retire from the army, hoping to explore more of the world and possibly find a new calling in life.
She was stationed in Black Crystal and is friends with the soldiers from her old battalion. Two of these are Darik Long and Nia Freit, who she's known for nearly 30 years. They are close friends and have encouraged her to go and explore the world, and to let them know if there's anything out there worth traveling for. She's planning to go out on a journey soon to see nearby kingdoms and is still trying to decide where to go and what to do at this point.
