The Blessed one challenges The Dragon Queen's right to rule over humans in Alagress, and is killed in the resulting battle.

The Blessed One challenges The Dragon Queen's right to rule over mankind and she kills him. His death drives his worshippers to insanity, and there is a great outbreak of arson, murder, and other unspeakable crimes in the lands. The Dragon Queen outlaws the worship of other deities in her kingdom, and orders the slaughter of the faithful of other deities. The surviving members of the human deities flee to the north and to the east, out of The Dragon Queen's reach, though their powers are greatly weakened.
