Tivel

Tivel, "The One True God", also called "The God that Walks Among Us" rules over the nation of Tivelania in the eastern portion of Umor. Son of the ancient conqueror Jegor, he killed his father with the assistance of Asmodeus, and assumed the mantle of The God of Humanity.    Tivel was one of Jegor's first children in Umor, and he wielded the power of demigod before Jegor stripped his mortal born children of that power. He lived on for years as a powerful wizard, always seeking a way to return to power. He was given much of eastern Umor to rule in the name of Jegor. Tivel had long life, thanks to being a wizard, and eventually discovered that his father rose to divinity through The Book of the Gods and The Pen of Creation. Tivel conspired with Asmodeus to kill Jegor. They agreed that they would kill Jegor, and that Tivel would write his name in the Book as the new god of Humanity. In exchange for his assistance, Asmodeus would get the Pen of Creation back.   In -57 BYD, Asmodeus travels to the island nation of Almas, disguised as Tivel, and demands Jegor face him, declaring that he will kill Jegor and assume his rightful place as the god of Humanity and ruler of Umor. Jegor appears in Almas, and a great magical battle begins, and Jegor has the upper hand. After Jegor left his divine realm, Tivel makes his way there, defeating his protections, and seizes the Book and the Pen, crossing out Jegor's name. This strips Jegor of his divinity, and the battle turns, and Asmodeus burns him to death for all to see. Tivel writes his own name in the book as the new god of Humanity, and then before he can do anything else, Asmoedus appears, taking the pen, and declaring their deal done, returns to Hell.   He has ruled over the country for a few hundred years, making regular appearances in public and occasionally even foiling assassination attempts. His rule over the country is absolute, though he delegates its innerworkings to his high priests, preferring to work on unraveling the secrets of the multiverse. His biggest discovery to date has been something he refers to as "The Secret", which has allowed him to ascend to true divinity.
