Marcanath

Marcanath, The God King of the city-state of Teramund, plays the long game. Since his arrival in the region of Algaress, he established his own city and has ruled there for over a millenia. He has attempted invasions of several of his neighbors, including The Dwarven Kingdom of Bulrak, the Elven Nation of Old Yudath, and The Dhalmass Kingdom. His most famous conquest however, was the destruction of the Merfolk of the Lake. Shortly after the age of darkness began, legend says he walked out to the lake and spoke a grand incantation, turning the water of the lake from fresh to salt, killing the vast majority of its inhabitants and leaving him free to plunder their civilization. He removed their great mythal, allowing him to protect his city from the coming undead hordes.
