Asmodeus
Lord of the Hells, King of the devils, and the Master of Evil
Asmodeus is one of the strongest forces in the multiverse. He buys souls and sells favors, but always abides by his contracts. He is known to be ruthless and cruel, but very willing to play the long game, as he has all of existence to wait.
The legends say that soon after the first gods created man, they ran into an issue: What to do with the souls of the wicked? Certainly, the gods did not want them in their divine realms, but they could not just be allowed to wander aimlessly and torment the living. The devil Asmodeus came to them with a suggestion, that he would be allowed to take the souls of those not wanted by the gods, and would keep them in his realm of fire. The gods agreed to these terms, and thus the souls of the wicked would often find their way into Asmodeus's realm.
Centuries passed, and the gods began to notice that more and more people were winding up in hell. Asmodeus had begun tempting mortals, offering them power and gifts in exchange for servitude, or their souls upon death. The gods confronted him on this, but he simply told them to "Read the fine print", and left, unconcerned with their anger. The gods came to realize that they never did forbid him from tempting mortals into a his service, but ultimately could do nothing to stop him, or else they would be back where they started.
Important historical impacts
Asmodeus and Tivel entered into an agreement to kill the god of humanity, Jegor. They were successful in slaying Jegor on the island of Almas, and Asmodeus was able to take back an ancient artifact known as the Pen of Creation from Jegor's corpse, before fleeing the wrath of the other gods.
