The small town of Earth Genasi that used to border the Elemental Plane of Earth was ransacked by a band of mercenaries, let by a man wearing a dark fist emblem on his breastplate. His black gauntleted knuckles shined with magical radiance. He used his fists to fight and kill. Root's Origin Story.

"My earliest memories of my childhood are clouded over by the stench of blood, death, and fear. My parents’ smiles and warmth faded as the years went by and were replaced by a distinct feeling of longing and forgotten sadness. The only thing I know for sure is that I’ll never forget the cold feel of my mother’s and father’s faces and the look in my twin brothers eyes as he was ripped away from me. My brother and I thrashed desperately in the arms of the strangers as my hand slipped from his. We were carried in opposite directions without being able to look back at each other for the last time. The mercenaries made quick work of the village, taking and killing those they had orders to take and kill. In the rush of it, Root was able to escape and run away to a smaller village of dwarves that took care of her.
