Session 20: The Four Blades

Family Reunion

Root went in to see her brother Groot Treething in prison. There she learned that:

• Groot was captured at birth and taken in by the Cackled End, Lemwe Calend, and was taught to do evil and violence under him.
• He raided, pillaged, murdered and uprooted governments as part of the Entropic Societals.
• He realized after seeing Root that there is perhaps hope left in his life. He will willingly take on his punishment.
• He warned Root that the people who are going after her and her group are dangerous. They should be wary.
• Lastly, Root learned that Groot has at least a month before he is tried and likely executed for his crimes.

In the Abandoned Warehouse

The party decided to knock on the door and inform the people inside the warehouse that there was a dangerous creature within. Breaking the door down, they ran right into an ambush! Mercenaries/bandits fought against this crew and in the process the Chaos Orb slew at least a dozen or more bodies within the premises.
Upon their exit, the bandits set fire to several of the boxes in the house and left. The party was quickly able to extinguish the flames and discover that they were a list of names, along with race, a location, and two dates. One in the past, and one in the future. Wu's name and info was on there as well, with the first date being the party's entry into the Gap of Thalmoris, and the second being on his birthday.
Moving further into the building, they came to the Slaadpole, which transformed into a Blue Slaad and began combat with the party. Together, the party nearly destroyed the Slaad. However, they soon discovered they were surrounded by the Four Blades, who with precision eliminated each member of the Snuggly Ducklings in turn.
Wu and Root, on their last breath, heard one member tell the Cackled End to send his band to St. Leo and annihilate the island.
