Orthomancers

Formed as an answer to the danger of arcane magic, the Orthomancers are skeptical of arcane magic in all of its forms. They traditionally reject the Valar Varda Elementári, and venerate Tulkas and Oromë above the rest. They believe in removing all arcane magic from the world, because they believe that it is too destructive to be used by humanity. They also see the rise in arcane magic to be the result of the Verbannen and the shutting off of the Valar from the Material Plane, along with the rise of the Faithless towards the end of the Age of Dichotomy. The Orthomancers are known worldwide. If anyone has been burned by the arcane, the Orthomancers are there for them. Their political influence ranges from place to place and time to time, but where their political influence exists, it is certain that arcane magic will not be permissible. One of the greatest influences that the Orthomancers has had on the world is that arcane magic is largely frowned upon in places of worship, regardless of the factions influence in the area.

History

In the Age of Mysterium, The High Hand became conflicted about what to do with regards to the place of Arcane magic. Many split over this conflict and formed the Orthomancers.

Ethics

The only use for arcane magic is to uproot and destory it. Thus, in the mind of Orthomancers, arcane magic weilded for the sake of destroying other arcane users is the only ethical use of magic.
