History
Unification
The early history of the region was one of tribal viking states with the most powerful kingdom being the kingdom of Vulkan located in the only fertile field it would eventually come to unify the kingdom in june 398 under the odeon dynasty when they won a war ageist fjäll another kingdom in the area.
The viking raids
After the unification the armies would go on to the local area using the unique metal odeinuim to hand craft its strong armour and weapons to plunder the neighbouring kingdoms of cadwalader. The first raid would take place in 411 on a small cadwalen town on the coast. Raids increased in frequency and in 468 a key figure in the vulkan Army would wish to have a base of operation in cadwalader to make raids there and there afield easier. This leader with the blessing of the vulkan king would form the kingdom of kaedwen in cadwalader. They would fight to unify cadwalader over the next 50 years but were pushed out and into the mountains in 523. Afterward, while not stopping completely, raids would slow down in frequency until their end in 547 when the king under the new house, house thor would declared that they were unjustified violence and that more money could be made by trading odienium to the world

The viking wars
After the raids were stopped by the king sectors of the army that wished for them to countin would go on to start a civil war and wishing to put a king on a throne that would continue those raids , they would be known as vikings after the generals in the raids. The other side known as the Framsteg was led by the house of Thor that wished to stop raiding other nations. The war broke out in 5871 when a loyalist ship for king James of the Thor dynasty fired on a raiding ship set up under the vikings which scared the other vikings into raising armies against house thor.
While the front didn't change much during the 8 month conflict the house of thor would keep control over the capital and the food and the vikings were focused to stop and surrender in may of 572 the leader running away to cadwalader where the population in the south would be largely supportive of them where they would grow a rebellion there.
In 578 the viking leader would rise up in southern cadwalader and march on vulkan with the cadwalden leadership at the time being unable to stop the uprising due to internal struggles. This war would last for the next 7 years and would end in 585 with the vikings being put down buy farmsteg
defence fosue after a discovery of a new way to make swords that could shatter the old viking armour that they used since the start of the raids that won them battles that pushed the vikings back to there capital in Llanfair where their leaders were executed and their lands annexed despite protest form cadwalader. After annexation of these lands the house of thor proclaimed the vulkan Empire which began to enter a new golden age for scientific growth and economic growth by trade of odeinuim with other nations.
The viking purges
After the defeat of the vikings in the viking wars the framstag would start to purge the vikings from the government. These purges would last from the formation of the empire until the viking coup in 724. These laws would be in place with the aim of finding and imprisoning anyone with viking sympathies. This would however not kill the vikings off as they had hoped with them just being pushed underground, this while pushing them out of government would not stop them from being able to influence politics of the nation with them maintaining a place in the army and navy of vulkan and would turn into the driving focus wishing to see the empire expand
The first golden age(585-603)
After the formation of the empire the economic growth seen was unheard of. The house of thor had overseen the construction of universities which would become the centre of scientific development. The empire was seen as the centre of the world and made money off trading odeinium to people across the world and was known for the blacksmiths of vulkan being the best in the world with most armies at this time having their equipment being traced back to the mines and blacksmiths in vulkan. During this time invention was made where the catapult, better farming techniques, many new spells were created and a more sturdy carriage was invented.
While this was known as the golden age their relations with cadwalader had been rocky. After the vulkan government had refused to give back the lands occupied by the vikings a trade embargo was placed on vulkan by cadwalader and vulkan struck back by blocking them from the odeinuim tarde in 594. This in cadwalader would be the start of the cadwalden dark ages
The first vulkan cadwadalen war (603 - 612)
In 603 the cadwaladens with support from the vikings would try to go to war to reclaim their old lands, while the vikings were opposed to that they wished that it would cause the condition to take over the empire. The cadwaladens hoped that after declaring war the vikings would rise up; however there was no viking uprising until after the first 5 years of fighting. These first 5 year would prove devastating to the cadwaladens.
The vulkan army landed in a northern port city that blocked its trade and an army was sent up to the cadwalader capital that was heavily damaged by fighting and became a battlefield. It was never fully taken by the vulkan and would remain a constant battle ground as reinforcements would be rushed into the city to stop it completely falling into the vulkan hands. The cadwaladens were constantly being defeated across the front.
The war after the first 5 years
The viking uprising of 608
The vikings after many years of purges and repression had organised and armed themself against the farmsteg government and made their move with uprising taking place across the empire. This would force the Vulkan troops to move their men to deal with the rebels and allow the cadwaladens to gain ground back and push into vulkan territory. At this point in the war it had appeared that the vulkans would lose the war however a turning point as at the battle of gräns in 610 , gräns was a small town on the border in core vulkan territory on the foot of the mountain. The vikings rebels had been pushed back to a few cities in the east of vulkan and the army's main body of men could move back to the cadwalader front.
The battle of the gärns
In the early morning of june the 5th 610 the cadwalader and vulkan armies would meet with their full force. 2 armies enter and one army leaves. The battle would start as the vulkan army led by king Charles with the newly forged blade of vulkan , a powerful sword made in the fires of the volcano and said to be powered by the gods. At dawn the vulkan cavalry using the hill to gain speed smashed into the unorganised defences of the cadwaladens who weren't expecting the attack until later that day. The cavalry had secured the only path out meaning that when the footmen when in the cadwalader armies were obliterated and left the front open , the cadwaladens couldn't put up any resistance and surrendered in early 612 with the vikings being put down later In the peace deal the capital of cadwalader was taken. While the lands that they had held until now had been easy to integrate into vulkan, however now these new lands were full of people opposed to vulkan rule with a different culture as they had not had the viking settlers able to influence the region. This would be the board for the remaining of the farmstag control over the country as cadwalader would not make an attempt to retake the land as they wouldn't have the resources. The next 100 year would be characterised by economic growth and scientific development and political stability and are rather uneventful and would be known as the second golden era.
The second viking civil war.
The odinium crash of 723
After 100 year of stability that would all come to an end when odenmuin would run out in the hål mine ,The biggest provider of odeinium. This meant vulkan would not be able to supply the global demand .This cripled the market and the global supply chain and resulted in a shortage of the ore which would not end for another 93 years. Due to this a lot of the military equipment outside of the volkan empire lacked the resource as their stockpiles were used up. In the 20 year period after the crash almost all nations would have gone to war for the other stockpiles and many nations would make it illegal for private citizens to own it. The crash's biggest impact would be felt in the vulkan heartland as many miners would lose their jobs as global demand dropped making their jobs unneeded.
