The Street Gangs of Morne

The Street Gangs of Morne are a number of criminal gangs active within the cities of Morne. Born from street urchins or nobles seeking the thrill of illegal activity, the gangs control a number of different enterprises and territories throughout the various regions.

Structure

  • The Glassmen: Thieves and importers of strong and illegally sold alcohol, the Glassmen run Still Street, the center of all liquor development and distribution. They are headed by the human Mr. Glass, a man whose family fell out of the nobility and was blinded in one eye, wearing a translucent glass one.
  • The Dolls: Controlled currently by Low Madame Cross, the Dolls are an anarchist gang who believe that the nobility is keeping the subjects of Morne oppressed and undermined by the use of their power.
  • The Morriwood Boys: Controlled by the Morriwood Three, the Boys are a group of vandals and thugs who are paid by nobles to give the thrill of engaging in crime, which often leads to both either blackmail and recruitment. The three brothers are dark elves Elgen, Domas, and Xander Morriwood.
  • The Nightcats: A thieves guild formed by the catfolk of Leone, they have formed to steal from the rich and powerful of Morne due to the understanding that Morne is milking them for their resources without any true intent to help them end the war against the reptile folk to the south of the island. They are led by the female tabaxi divination wizard Madame Nosa.
  • The Serps: This small but powerful gang focuses on the distribution of powerful narcotics and poisons from Leone, formed and controlled by the yuan-ti alchemist, Seth Brogan. Their intent is to sway the Mornish government to their side by putting those who will work with them in power, by poison or otherwise.
  • The Moray: The Moray have controlled most of the central and eastern harbors of Morne for quite some time, but after the taking of the Isle of Pencilla by the Helgen they were forced to turn their operations westward, getting into conflict with the already established Harbormen. The Moray are led by the vicious and violent Sissy Eel-Locks.
  • The Harbormen: The Harbormen controlled most of the established western ports, having a deal with the pirates of Skullwater to provide locations for drops, takes, thefts, and vandalism. But the sudden incursion of the Eels from the east has formed a competition between the two gangs for the Pirates' attention, the Harbormen being more reliable but the Eels riskier but also grander with their rewards and takes. John Harbor runs this gang, a disgraced naval officer who was dishonorably discharged.
