The New Gods

The New Gods, titled as such because of their sudden appearance and small time of worship, are a selection of deities lesser known to most of the world but still holding of powerful, divine command. Their strangeness and variety speak to different portfolios and concepts than traditional gods, which makes them lesser known but concentrated in power.

Structure

These are the lighter gods of the new pantheon:
  • Sarenrae, the Everlight: Goddess of fire, redemption, temperance, patience, and wisdom. The warrior daughter of Pelor, she stood beside him and took up the mantle after his weakening from the fight against Tharizdun. Depicted as a woman with bronze skin, a fall of fire for hair, dressed in blue garb or red armor and wielding a flaming scimitar in one hand, with a pair of blazing angel wings behind her. Concerned with redeeming lost souls, rooting out and fighting corruption, nurturing wisdom and kindness, and exercising patience and understanding.
  • Shelyn, the Eternal Rose: Goddess of love, creativity, passion, beauty, art, and music. Depicted as a woman with red-brown hair wearing a dress that runs from white to the whole spectrum of colors, whilst wielding a golden glave that she had stolen from her brother, Zon-Kuthon. She once was flighty and fickle, but the loss of her family had stuck her with understanding and furthered her empathy. She and Zon-Kuthon do not speak, but do not attack and sometimes even go out of their way to protect each other.
  • Cayden Cailean, the God of Heroes: God of revelry, drink, freedom, bravery, rebellion, and heroism, depicted as a man wielding a dueling sword in one hand and a full tankard in the other. Serves to defend against tyranny, seduce lovely women and men, and works to push towards the freedom of others from the chains of oppression, being a regular enemy of Asmodeus and lover of Shelyn.
These are the neutral gods of the new pantheon:
  • Nethys, the Mad God of Magic: God of magic, partially fused to the Weave itself and made to embody the constant war between Order and Chaos. Depicted as a man with tanned skin in robes, half of his face and clothing blackened with a glowing eye and burst veins of magical energy frothing from his skin. A mortal who exposed himself to the purest essence of the Weave during an Arcane Iteration, in which the Weave resets itself to protect its own existence. He nearly was consumed in whole by the stream but he pulled himself out in time, retaining unimaginable power but shattering his mind and leaving him forced to switch and jitter between his calm, sensible side and his passionate, chaotic side.
These are the darker gods of the new pantheon:
  • Zon-Kuthon, the Prince of Pain: God of pain, suffering, madness, and truth. Depicted as a pale man with glowing red eyes, the whole of his back flayed, a crown of iron thorns, chain, and barbed wire gauntlets, and all manner of other modifications. He stands for the belief that pain and suffering can open the mind to the highest level of understanding and comprehension, allowing one to commune with the great old ones who hold monstrous wisdom. Often worshiped by seekers of eldritch knowledge, masochists, sadists, and torturers.
  • Norgorber, the Reaper of Repute: God of dark dealings, thievery, assassination, poison, secrets, and anything in regards to the rogue's lifestyle, depicted as a man in black clothing with a metal mask over his face. He was a mortal who ascended to godhood by pickpocketing the divinity from other gods, becoming a patron of the roguish arts and criminal element.
  • Lamashtu, the Mother of Monsters: God of monsters, rage, family, and unity, depicted as a pregnant, jackal-headed woman with black feathered wings and a snake for a tale. She has another more monstrous appearance and rules over the whole of the Abyss as the Demon Queen, many swearing fealty to her. Constantly wars with the other demons, but serves as a mother and protector of monsters and unwanted creatures.
