The Claw of the Black Beast
The Claw of the Black Beast is the powerful vestige of Malar, an artifact said to be formed from the hand of his first kill, bitten off by the god's own jaws. Inside it holds a glass bauble with gold capping the top of it while being tied to an indestructible leather cord. it's hand is grey and veined with long claws extending from its nails.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The Claw of the Black Beast requires attunement by a Druid, Nature Cleric, Ancients Oath Paladin, or a Barbarian, and gives the wearer a powerful bonus to resist the effects of its enemies. Each dawn, the wearer must choose one Ability Score: Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution. Ability checks and saves made with the chosen Ability Score are made at Advantage. Additionally, the wearer gets Advantage on all Charisma checks when speaking with animals or attempting to influence an animal's mood.
Once per Long Rest, the Claw allows the wearer to transform into a Giant Bear, Giant Shark, Giant Ape, or Giant Crocodile. If your form is reduced to 0 HP or you revert back into your normal form, you cannot use the same effect until your next Long Rest.
Significance
The wearer of The Claw of Malar is chosen by the god himself, worn by his chosen guardian Mor'duin and presented to those he deems worthy as a challenge. If the challenger can defeat Mor'duin, the claw falls through the spectral bear's form and is presented to the victor. It imbues them with the power to command the wilds, but if the wearer begins to let nature suffer at the hands of greed or expansion, the hand will vanish and leave behind a desiccated mimicry of itself.
