The All-Takers
The All-Takers, also known as the Children of the Maw and the Kin of the Crawler, is a cult dedicated to the god Torog, seeing to it that he devours the whole of the world and is capable of escaping his prison deep within the Earth. They were the ones responsible for the start of the Fall of Kaisalis, causing many of their terrestrial cities to be consumed in great maws of earth that opened by their will, feeding their dark god on both flesh and fear.
Assets
- Harrowspade: This warpick of Torog is powerful enough to level whole places into the Underdark, and has been wielded by many of his followers and many who were not of his kin. Its use is what truly delights him regardless of the hand behind it. This is a +2 mace that gains a +2 bonus to all attack and damage rolls made with it and deals an additional 1d8 psychic damage on a successful hit. It also can cast the following spells once per day each: Maximillian's Earthen Grasp, Erupting Earth, and Earthquake.
- The King's Visage: This shield bears the face of Torog himself, introducing those who view it into a sliver of the madness that looking upon him causes. This +2 shield gives the wielder a +2 bonus to their AC (on top of the shield's normal bonus) and Saves, and allows the wielder to cast the following spells once per day each: Fear, Phantasmal Killer, and Flesh to Stone.
- Jailor's Flay: This cloak is said to be formed of skin flayed from Torog himself, taken from the rocks he has scratched himself against while endlessly tunneling through, and tanned into a leather cape. The wearer of this cape is considered to always be under the effect of Passwall, has Advantage on checks against being Grappled or Restrained, and has a Burrowing Speed equal to their walking speed.
Divine Origins
- Born of the Dark: The All-Takers originated deep within the pre-historic Underdark where Torog held domain, gathering followers by finding those surrounded by darkness who succumb to the madness of isolation. Using their ancient powers, he had them rise to the surface and kidnap those who dwelled there, using their intellect and knowledge to educate his followers in the fashions of making weapons and mining, which made pathways for him to travel through the more they dug. In time, they eventually caught a power Kaislian Artisan, who after years and years of physical and psychological torture, revealed to them the ways of creating weapons of mass destruction. This would give rise to many of Torog's most powerful arms, all of which were used to cause chaos, destroy settlements, and drag more potential followers and food into the shadows of the earth below.
