Chasmhall

Chasmhall is an expansive drow kingdom that resides within the Underdark at Albion, settled in the southern section of the Sonoran lands and expanding to the eastern edge of the elven lands of Nyth Noelle and the northern section Thor Bardam. Warring with the Duergar Kingdom of Darkstone to the west beneath the Dross and the other aberrations that reside within the Underdark, Chasmhall stands as one of the largest settled areas of Underdark within the realm, nearly emulating the pre-Rend Kingdom of Sonora in size. Ruled by the Dark Elf Queen Zynovia Maruzek, the settlement has seen prosperity by hiding from all surface sight and keeping to themselves, holding great respect for Druids, Clerics, Paladins, and other classes that help burgeon society and keep the masses fed and protected.

Structure

  • The Nether Queen "Kaizra": The ruler of all that Chasmhall holds and commands, the queen is the absolute authority on everything and anything that occurs within.
  • The Black Champion "Wardün": The queen's dedicated personal guard and often times a lover of them as well, the Black Champion is the only martial position that either a man or woman can fill dependent on the need.
  • The Netherguard "Bölwarc": The queen's guard and royal protectors of the ruling house, the Netherguard is formed of all of the greatest male warriors residing within Chasmhall's territory.
  • The Queen's Assembly "Claive": A selection of council members chosen by the Queen and her Champion, known as Barristers.
Below are the positions of Chasmhall's many different regions and territories.
  • Earl "Herzon": Ruler over the whole of the territory, all positions below are deigned by the Earl and sent up to him.
  • Baron "Advocatus/Advocatia":
  • Minister "Ridda": These nobles rule over small towns and villages and serve as the representative of these different smaller areas. This position can be held by either a man or a woman.

Culture

  • Prizing Females: Due to the female's capability to breed children, females are heavily prized within Chasmhall's culture. Men are viewed as either dispensible or as merely good servants depending on the level of the house's contempt. This does not mean that men cannot ascend to the ranks, but their primary path of advancement is to serve as a protector or martial class under a noble and learn from them as an apprentice.
  • Anything is Useful: The dark elves view any and all tools as useful if applied to the right job, and so they hold all forms of magical power in high regard, particularly druidic and divine sources.

Infrastructure

These are the various noble houses that exist within Chasmhall:
  • House Maruzek: A noble house that has ruled over Chasmhall for the better part of centuries.
  • House Dalael: A noble house of drow that has focused on arcane magic and wizardry.
  • House Balaur: A noble house of drow known for providing powerful knights and martial warriors to other houses.
  • House Natraeon: A noble house of drow focusing on chronicling and curating knowledge and lore.
  • House Dyre: A noble house.

Mythology & Lore

The people of Chasmhall believe that their patron god Lolth originates as a drow hero who was instrumental in the survival of the elves during the Age of Horrors, bringing them underground and working to teach them how to survive using anything and everything they can.
