The Irons Oath

The Irons Oath is an ancient order of divine knights formed after the Age of Divinity during the War of Gods and Magic, dedicated to destroying the system of oppression and rulership imposed upon the Mage Lords of the time. They helmed the war on the side of the gods, and are dedicated to always finding mages who use their power to destroy, oppress, or control other people, so as to never again see them rise to their previous position as kings of the realm.

Structure

There is no formal leadership amongst the Irons Oath beyond a sense of experience and seniority, as all are known as Oathsisters and Oathbrothers. Occasionally, however, a legion of members may select one to lead them, calling them Oathfather or Oathmother.

Culture

• Disdain for Magic: Members of the Irons Oath are sworn to temper and observe those who have powers over magic, keen to keep them from growing drunk with power and bringing other people beneath their control.
• Sheer Force of Will: Members of the Irons Oath are oftentimes unsure of where they draw their power from, some believing it to be a god while others view themselves as the natural counter to the Weave of Magic. In truth, however, their power comes from their belief in doing the right thing, from a sheer force of will that allows them to tap into the deepest centers of power. While gods and patrons may supplement this, this is the core belief and source of power within the Irons Oath itself.
