The Flooded Fields

After the destruction of MarrowWeave , AlderVein was left in a state of panic, as their largest supplier of agriculture was decimated. Most settlements struggled to deal with this epidemic, and tried their best to expand what farmlands they had.
However no one dealt with this problem quite as well as SwitchWick. The city is notoriously skilled at turning a problem into a solution, and they did just that when facing a national food shortage. In just two short years the leaders of SwitchWick went from producing zero food, to being the largest supplier of crops.
The city's government implemented a plan to use the vast amount of excess rain water to grow plants that thrive in a flooded farmland. Their cash crop being emerald rice; a grain rich in nutrients and flavor and is native to Skeldera. Their government hired many Skelden  immigrants that sought refuge in AlderVein to tend to the fields, as they are already familiar growing the rice.
