Weapon Expertise
Weapon expertise is a form of specialization that is available to non-fighters. Regular weapon specialization is only available to single-classed fighters, but weapon expertise can be learned by all other characters. There’s no reason a single-classed fighter couldn’t learn expertise instead of specialization, but expertise is just as expensive as specialization and isn’t as good.
Weapon expertise allows a character to gain extra attacks as if he or she were a weapon specialist. At 1st level, an expert with the long sword gets to attack three times per two rounds. Weapon expertise also allows the use of any unusual weapon properties reserved for specialist use. Weapon expertise does not grant the character extra attack or damage bonuses, as weapon specialization does.
In the same way, weapon expertise allows a character to access Advanced Martial Arts (not Exclusive). Like Specialization, the character would spend 1 W.P. to have a Basic Martial Art then spend a second W.P. to "upgrade" the Basic Martial Art to an Advanced martial art. Once done, the former is replaced with the latter (no residual powers, moves, or otherwise are carried over). Additional W.P. may be spent to add moves, purchase powers, or add bonuses to hit or damage for any specific move in the art (at a cost of 1 W.P. per +1).
