Terrain: Taiga

The Cyric Taiga consists of vast spruce, pine, and larch forests broken by some significant permafrost plains. Low vegetation is typically sparse and buried by snow although it can be evident during summer months. Temperatures in the taiga range from winter lows of -50˚F to low 40˚F during the height of summer, with a general average temperature in the low 30s. While deeps snows are present during the winter months, it is not unusual to have snows year-round.

Examples of Cyric Taiga can be found in snow forests or boreal forests. Taigavideo.

Typical mammals living in the taiga include foxes, lynxes, bears, minks, squirrels, grey wolves, caribou, reindeers and moose and their giant equivalents to a lesser extant. Humanoids penetration is low with ogres tribes being encountered sporadically. Dinosaurs, like other biomes also dot the landscape and giants are sighted here more often than in other locales.
