Terrain: Desert
In Alcirya, hot deserts range from badlands to sandy dunes with little to no life. This biome has a layer of soil that can either be sandy, gravelly, or stony, depending on the type of desert. Little foliage is found unless there is a distinct water source. Most of the vegetation is small and hugs the ground providing cover for the few creatures that live in the area. Typical are yuccas, ocotillo, turpentine bush, prickly pears, false mesquite, agaves, and brittlebush.

Temperatures have little fluctuation throughout the year but more so between night and day (25 deg. At night and 100+ during the day).
Typical animals are the black-tailed jackrabbit, rattlesnake, tortoise, iguana, horned lizard, black widow spider, killer bees, fire ants, scorpions, camels, desert fox, antelope, armadillo, coyotes, jackrabbits, and bobcats.
Goblins and hobgoblins have been able to adapt to these environments often by inhabiting caves and other underground lairs left by other creatures. Griffons, which are native to the Yusuf desert, are often caught and domesticated to be ridden by elite Templar.
