Purgatory

​Baatu's realm is known as Purgatory. It is a vast bleak plane bathed in darkness with the exception of odd greenish light emanating from various sources. While different areas of the plane are featured differently depending upon the ruler (Zuggtmoy’s domain is a sickening fen plagued by insects, Nhaggol’s domain is a rocky and barren landscape racked with deep fissure that glow with the greenish hue, Lloth has a network of caverns that twist and turn throughout the entire plane where her thralls live in a massive colony) all portions of the plane are dominated by the massive dead volcanoes which rises in the center. Followers of Baatu move all throughout here with legions of the dead that they are shepherding to the central pillar (the volcano). As slave gangs, they are pressed to climb the slopes (no paths are seen or made). Once to the top, they are brought to Orcus’ seat of power, a massive throne, where he sits and judges the souls sending them off to the planes of their respective deities. For those who have betrayed their Deity, Orcus harvests their soul and sends them to one of his avatars as a lowly lemure who may become something more if they serve their new master well. ​
