Clan of the Broken Blade

Any order as autonomous and ruthless as the Clan of the Bright Blade is likely to spawn illegitimate children. Such is the case with the Clan of the Broken Blade. The story, as told, says that as the pressure of success increased for the Clan of the Bright Blade, more students were needed the rigorous standards of the samurai were set aside in favor of mass training. Of these, an Appollonian ‘defector’ was trained in the art. With this new found knowledge, he re-asserted his status in Appollonia by training a new faction of killers who owned the secrets of the ninja (which had confounded the magocracy for sometime) but were open to employment. Keeping their numbers and training a secret (to resist government control), they became servants to the coin willing to assassinate anyone, anytime should the price be right.
