Artifact Hunter

The Artifact Hunter has been specifically trained by his church to seek out artifacts of religious importance. Rather than the study of magic through divination, the Artifact Hunter has devoted his studies to the identification and collection of artifacts for his church. The Artifact Hunter has spent extensive time in the study of artifacts of all kinds.

Role

The Artifact Hunter has been trained by his church to retrieve objects which have been stolen or misplaced. The Artifact Hunter is dedicated to his deity, and at best doubtful about the intentions of those from other religions. The Artifact Hunter will seek out items requested by his church, or those that he believes may be of interest to his church.

Special Benefits

Due to the nature of his training, the Artifact Hunter is especially skilled at identification of items. See table below. The Artifact hunter may possess more than 10 magical items, as long as the items over 10 are those that have been specifically requested by the church.

Special Hindrances

While skilled at identifying items, he had to choose to give up training in spell casting. This time has been spent instead learning about artifacts, how to identify them, and where they came from. The Artifact Hunter must, as soon as possible, turn over to the church all artifacts of religious importance. He may request to retain items of specific need until a later time, but all objects belong to the patron deity.
