Bathhouse
Bathhouses are found across the towns and cities. For a reasonable fee, a person or a group of people can have a bath. If required the people who are taking a bath can have assistance, for a higher fee, if they are elderly or disabled in some way.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the Bathhouse is to take a bath as citizens don't have the space for a bath or a shower. it can also be a place to catch up with family and friends.
Design
The Bathhouse is a rectangular building that is broken up into thirds with the middle third further broken down into two. With the middle section connecting to the other thirds for staff access reasons.
Left and Right Third
In the Left and right halves are the bathing areas for men and women. The left being for men and the right for women. In each of the rooms is a place to change without a vanity screen but a place to put the customers' clothes. their are many baths, Bathhouse Attendants (teenagers or young adults of that genered room) would be filling an emptying a bath. Once they are finished they indicate which bath is ready as some baths may be left slightly full to make it easier to fill or can't be emptied fully. By each of the baths is a stool, on which, is soap equal to the number of adults using the bath and the same number of towels but for everyone. While it is often not done the bars of soap can be taken from the premises and it is included in the price the towels however are not. On the far long wall of each there is a fireplace which lit can provide warmth to those who are there or can make the drying process much more easier.Middle Third
The middle section is for paying for the service and to allow the staff to access the other rooms. Along with customers to wait for the room to be free.Entries
There is one entry point into the building. For the bathing rooms, there are two, one for the customers that can be locked by the customers and the other which the Bathhouse Attendants lock. The middle third has three entrances one for each bathing area and one to leave the building.
Denizens
people who come to this building are the Bathhouse Attendants, the owner, and any customers.
Contents & Furnishings
In the waiting area are two benches, one for each gendered room, a counter for buying a visit into either room, and various sizes of baths. Along with soap and towels.
Architecture
The architecture is relatively simple, with windows placed in areas where privacy isn’t required. Bathhouses have stood the test of time, often lasting for centuries. As a result, it’s far more common to encounter older, historic bathhouses than newer ones.
