The Bittercrag Mountains

The Bittercrag Mountains form a formidable natural border between The Sy'ill Highlands  and The Gift, their jagged, ice-crowned peaks looming over the surrounding lands. Renowned for their treacherous terrain and harsh, unrelenting cold, these mountains are among the most remote and unforgiving regions in the known world. Blizzards frequently sweep through the crags, and sheer cliffs make passage nearly impossible for all but the most seasoned travelers. Due to the extreme conditions, few dare to traverse the Bittercrags directly, instead favoring The Breach —one of the only reliable routes through the range. Even among the many dangerous mountain chains of Alboric, the Bittercrags are considered the most inhospitable, with their isolated valleys and hidden caverns home to untamed beasts and long-forgotten ruins.
Legends whisper of lost travelers swallowed by the icy abyss, their echoes carried by the howling winds. Yet, despite the dangers, scattered villages and hardy wayfarers persist, eking out a living in the shadows of the towering peaks.
