Guild of Temperance
The Guild of Temperance is one of the seven sects of the Clockmakers, and is concerned with organizing, maintaining, and enforcing the guild doctrines. They work closely with the Faith sect to determine the doctrine's success in their ecclesiastical regions, and to gather this information as data for the betterment of the Clockmakers as a whole.
They differ from the Faith sect (auditors) in that rather than investigating, they handle the societal and political weight of the guild's doctrine and are frequently consulted for diplomatic matters.
A typical village guild will have one clockmaker from the Temperance sect to work closely with community leaders, to ensure local and religious laws are in line with Clockmaker practice. They would be responsible for relaying accurate information on how the town celebrates holidays, gathers tithes, and performs marriage and death rites for other members to then enforce or enact.
Typically Temperance members have less experience utilizing practical magic, and are taught more extensive types of protective spells rather than the offensive training given to most members.
