Ffion

Ffion is a Malaika noblewoman and former blood trafficker who lives in Beltane and is Queen Mab's apprentice. She participates in the Koaneg Eskern fights and is one of the few examples of Mab's blessings.

Personal history

Ffion is the youngest of three children, with an older sister and older twin brother, and were born in Beltane. Their father is a cousin of Queen Elcu, their mother a Malaika noblewoman with land in Northern Deywos. As their mother's land is fairly remote, the family live in Beltane where Cadfael and Ffion were expected to get a multi-faceted education to return to Deywos with to expand upon their territory, a common practice as Beltane have many reputable guilds and exchange students are quite common. 
Ffion was born with albinism, and lacks pigment in her skin eyes and hair. She was a fairly isolated child due to this, unable to go in direct sunlight. However, she and Cadfael are the same age as Rianu and often played together as a trio. 
Cadfael decided to become a clockmaker as did Rianu, but Ffion wished for something more adventurous. She would not be next in line to inherit her mother's land longed for something other than courtly duties or comfortable allegiance to a guild. When she turned 13, she went to her first Koaneg Eskern preliminary fight, deep in the forest. That was when she learnt noblewomen who were not first in line for their inheritance often participated. She could not afford to pay for the materials or tutoring she would need to get into a proper guild and the only free of charge guild, the clockmakers, was not of interest to her. Blood being a hot commodity in the koaneg eskern tournament, she sold her blood and learnt basic blessings to help injured chess pieces. It became apparent a Realgar guild would be a good direction for her, but this she could not afford either. She was eventually recruited into a group of blood thieves who provided services to any injured chess pieces regardless of alleigance, as healing and care in the koaneg eskern tournament was highly dependent on your resources and status. She became known as Ffion the Bloodless.
